FAQ's

What type of awnings do you sell?
Check out our different types of Awnings available on the home page

What are the awning covers made from?
Our "The ONE" awnings are made from 300gsm polyester fabric.

Our Custom Made Awnings come with hard wearing acrylic fabrics. All fabrics are water repellent or waterproof, rot-proof, UV stabilised, and are easy to sponge clean.

Can you replace the awnings body fabrics?
Yes you can - so you can change the colour of your awning fabric each season if you wish.

How to clean your awning fabric in 3 simple steps:

  1. First, try to scrape away as much ( dry ) dirt as possible with a scraper. Use a scraper that does not damage the fabric, like the ones used for car windows.
  1. Then sweep the fabric with a soft bristle brush to remove the dirt between the fibers.
  1. Afterward, clean the awning with a homemade vinegar mixture: mix 60ml of detergent ( Washing Up liquid ), and 125 to 250ml of white vinegar per 4l of water.

Apply the product to the fabric and leave for 5 to 10 minutes to soak. Always clean a larger area around the stain as well.

Important: When cleaning your canopy, watch out for any stains dropping on your patio. You can always place a protective tarp on the patio to catch drips or spills from above.

After applying this recommended solution, always rinse the fabric with water from a garden hose, (not a power washer), and let it dry,

Wait until your fabric is completely dry before rolling it up again. A fabric that is rolled up wet can cause mold to grow if left closed to long without drying out.

How often should I clean my awning?

We recommend cleaning your awning fabric twice a year for best results. This way you make sure your awning always looks good, and extend the lifespan of your awning.

What is the best time to clean my awning?

Be sure to check the weather forecast before getting started. Clean your awning on a dry, but not a too sunny day. The sun can cause the product to dry too quickly, which can result in streaks.

At the same time, make sure there is not too much wind and that it is not raining: your awning should be able to dry fully rolled out.

Can I keep the awning out all year round? Do you do storage covers?
Awnings must not be left open during windy conditions or very heavy rain. The awning cover is waterproof and can be used in during light rainy conditions. You can leave the awning fixed to the wall all year round, but for added protection we recommend that you purchase one of our storage covers.

How long are the awnings guaranteed for?
Our "The ONE" Awnings come with a One Year Limited Warranty, and our Custom Made Awnings come with a 5 Year Limited Warranty.

How much space is required for an awning? How high should I fit it?
The recommended height from the ground is between 2.5m - 3.5m, depending on the projection of the awning, and how much slope you wish to put on the awning to allow for head height clearance when fully extended.

If you want to install lower than this, determine whether there is sufficient headroom when the awning is fully extended and that any doors can open. The slope of the awnings can be adjusted from near horizontal to up to 35 degrees.

Make sure that you have your measurements correct before you place your order as our awnings are made to order and cannot be exchanged, cancelled or refunded due to measurement mistakes.

If you are unsure whether the awning will fit, please email us a photo of the area with measurements and we can confirm it for you before you place your order, also we can provide a free survey service if required, (Dublin area only at present).

The vertical size of the fixing bracket is about 7 inches (approx 20cm). If space is tight you may wish to check that you have 7 clear inches before ordering.

Our standard awnings can also be fitted to eaves, ceiling or a horizontal surface using a double use bracket, (available to order). The width and projection depend on the awning model itself.
